Experiences such as this are why I believe there's a saboteur in the Writing Department. Someone is up there purposely shooting the organization in the foot. Either that, or there's a troll of epic proportions up there laughing hysterically after every time he writes something outragous and then succeeds in getting it printed.

Odd Thomas - Of Whom Shall I Be in Dread? - WT 7/15/12
by 00DAD inno, this isn't about the dean koontz character odd thomas, but those books are a good read!
this is about another, different fictional character, albeit not quite so engaging as the one imagined by the very talented mr. koontz.
now i know mr. ot is described as being just "an unbaptized publisher", but in my decades of experience as a jw any and all "unbaptized publishers" here in sunny socal would be vetted enough to know better than to take a job at a school run by priests.

Did you know that God will terminate your supervisors employment, and give you their old job?
by Theocratic Sedition inaccording to the wt study yesterday, that's what happened.. 16. by allowing jehovah to instruct us and lead us in the path of uprightness, we will have no cause for fear.
when a regular pioneer in the united states applied for a job that would help him to keep his entire family in full-time service, his supervisor told him that he would never get that position without a college degree.
had this happened to you, would you have regretted pursuing full-time service to the exclusion of seeking higher education?

According to the WT Study yesterday, that's what happened.
Two weeks later, that supervisor's employment was terminated, and another manager asked the brother about his goals. he readily explained that eh and his wife were full-time ministers of Jehovah's Witnesses and wanted to continue as such. Before the brother could say anything else, the manager said, "I knew there was something different about you! When my father was on his deathbed, two of your fellow believers came and read the Bible to him every day. I promised myself that if I ever had an opportunity to help one of Jehovah's Witnesses, I would do it." The next morning, this brother was given the very job that the former director had refused to give him. Indeed, when we put Kingdom interests first in our life, Jehovah lives up to his assurance that we will not go without material necessities.- Matt 6:33.

Here's my question: What idiot would volunteer information about their reproductive systems & choices to Moe, Larry, & Curly on a body of elders?
Anybody that stupid probably deserves to be DF'ed.
They may not be stupid enough to let Moe, Larry, & Curly know, but they may tell another JW who they consider a friend. That friend, well intentioned or not, will tell another friend who will then proceed to tell another friend, and eventually the news will reach Moe, Larry, & Curly. JWs love gossiping.
edit post: The more I think about it, I can see how this issue would generate a QFR response from the WT. These situations are happening, and the common sense side of many JWs will see nothing wrong with In Vitro, but the indoctrinated need to rely on the WT's word for every personal decision a JW makes completely over-rides their own common sense. The WT unable to resist it's obsession with the Mosaic Law, and unable to avoid micro-managing(ironic considering the WT Study last week mentioning that Jehovah doesn't micromanage) the personal lives of JWs, feels obligated to locate some obscure scripture on adultery and apply it to something the writer had no intention of addressing, something that didn't even exist when the writer penned the verse.

I'm gonna have to decline your invite
by mrsjones5 inmy mother just told me today that her cousin's wife has extended an invite for me to attend their 35th wedding anniversary.
i find that i'm not in the mood to be surrounding by a group of jws especially since said cousin and his wife are both jws and i did accept the wife as a friend on facebook where i've been none too discreet about my distaste for the society.

Should Dub's seen doing street witnessing be shot on sight to put them out of their misery?
by darth frosty inworking downtown today and i just saw two groups of jw's doing street work.
the 1st pair was a coupla young brothers who reminded me of myself when i was young and dumb.. the 2nd set was a couple older brothers (guessing 30 or 40's) doing the green mile walk of death.
i mean these 2 cats were walking at speeds reserved for those 73 and older.

I've got a feeling street work is about to be encouraged heavily in the very near future. Don't quote me on that, but certain things I've noticed lately got me thinking it might be possible. For one thing, the October Study magazine, has on the cover some people doing street witnessing, and using a billboard setup. They've been testing this way of doing it for the past couple years mainly in NYC, and while the method itself won't entirely replace the door to door work, it will take a chunk out of the traditional way field service is done.
What's really got me thinking this is a possibility is that when a certain thread about rumored significant changes happening to the organization coming into effect in 2013, that very week at our Service Meeting, our COBOE made a comment about being yielding to the direction of the Slave. That in itself is nothing new, but the context of his comment was dealing with field service methods and then he went on to mention the booth and billboard methods being tested in NYC. Also there's supposedly an two day elder school scheduled for 2013 sometime although we haven't recieved any specifics as to dates in our circuit, but if that rumor was truthful which included elders helping the friends to adjust to new changes, I think it's related to field service. What you mentioned about street witnessing being torturous, its about to become even more so for those not socially inclined.
Granted it's all just speculation based upon hearsay and looking into the words of others, possibly too much on my part. I think the branches are all too familiar with JWs just going through the motions when doing door to door. JWs do their time, accomplish little to nothing, and then go about their affairs for the day. Often they barely even speak to anyone when doing door to door, but with street witnessing they're almost forced to interact with others. What Frosty described is about to change I think. Time will tell.

I like this new Tammy, no longer wiping the dust from her sandles. They throw dust she throws it back and then winks.

And I agree with KS about the elephant. This is a way to really threaten people that don't agree with you. 'You better say I'm right, or my daddy will burn you up!' It's simply wrong.
Personally, I think the lack of a hell as supported via scripture is something the WT got right. At the same time, someone can take the illustrations in the Bible, and easily make the case for a hell even though at the end of the day their foundation is flawed because their arguments are based upon, illustrations. (as evidenced in the previous posts) What I wonder about at times is, back in Bible times, was the thought of a person ceasing to be simply not good enough for people? Obviously for those that hope in a heaven, and for JWs hoping to live in paradise that becomes apparent. People like that NEED to believe in something beyond death. However, after reading Myelaine's posts, I get the feeling that the teaching of a burning hell satisfies the feelings of revenge for believers. In Myelaine's posts you pick up on a person who's got a real passive aggressive attitude along with sociopathic leanings but cognizant of their being incapable of physically acting upon such.
It's similar to the WT article from years ago lamenting the existance of apostates and how in this day and age they can't simply exterminate them so they have to wait on JEhovah. You feel the same contempt from Myelaine, only she salivates for people to burn in hell, and all for the audacity of disagreeing with her interpretation of Scripture. So Tammy doesn't deny Christ, loves Christ, lives her life in harmony with his will, but she disagrees with Myelaine on certain pecularities including the submittion to The Church which is synonomous with Peter, so Tammy's got to fry.
Ya gotta love it.
